University House was opened in 1954.  Situated in a garden setting on the University campus, within walking distance of Lake Burley Griffin, the Australian National Museum and the centre of Canberra, the House is close to the Academy of Science, the Canberra Schools of Music and Art, and a few minutes drive from the National Library of Australia, the Australian National Gallery and Parliament House.  Open all year round. Food outlets closed on Public holidays and Xmas.The House has 105 bedrooms.  Most rooms have their own bathroom and some have separate kitchen facilities.  There are two restaurants, a library, car parking and nine functions rooms.  Recreational facilities include a tennis court and other sports facilities nearby.   Guests welcome. NLC membership card and letter of introduction required. All charges to be settled by reciprocal members before leaving – visa/mastercard/amex or diner. No strict dress code.
